Privacy Policy

Your Privacy, Protected

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Last updated: June 12, 2026  ·  Effective date: June 12, 2026

La Familia Insurance Inc. (“La Familia Insurance,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is an independent insurance agency licensed in all 50 U.S. states and headquartered in Pembroke Pines, Florida. We are committed to protecting the privacy of every person who calls us, fills out a form on our website, walks into our office, or is referred to us by a friend, family member, or business partner. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Approximately 95% of our clients come to us through referrals or existing relationships with families, friends, and business partners we already serve. Trust is the foundation of our agency, and that trust starts with how we treat your information.

1. Our Core Commitment

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to anyone.

We do not share your contact information with marketing lists, data brokers, lead-generation companies, or third-party advertisers. The only parties who receive your information are the insurance carriers and partners required to provide you with a quote or service the policy you choose — and only the information they need.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, email, our contact form, in our office, or through a referral, you may share:

  • Contact details: name, phone number, email address, mailing or office address, preferred language.
  • Quote and underwriting details: date of birth, household size, household income, ZIP code, tobacco use, dependents, employment status, citizenship or residency status (where required by carriers), and similar facts needed to find appropriate coverage.
  • Health information: limited health-related answers (e.g., tobacco use, pre-existing conditions when relevant) that are required to obtain a quote or apply for a policy. Health information is handled with additional care — see Section 7.
  • Policy and beneficiary information: insurance application data, beneficiaries, policy numbers, and related documents once you become a client.

Information collected automatically on our website

When you visit lafamiliainsuranceinc.com we automatically collect limited technical information:

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) maintained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.
  • Google Analytics 4 usage data (with IP anonymization enabled) to understand which pages are most useful. You can opt out by declining cookies in our banner or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Your saved language preference, stored in your browser's localStorage so the site loads in your chosen language next time.

The quote estimator on our home page runs entirely in your browser. The age, household size, income, and ZIP code you enter into the estimator are not sent to us or to any third party unless you separately submit the contact form or call us.

Information from referrals

When an existing client or business partner refers you to us, they may share your name and contact information so we can reach out. We use that information only to contact you about insurance, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you share with us only to:

  • Prepare insurance quotes and compare plans on your behalf.
  • Submit applications to insurance carriers you authorize us to work with.
  • Service your policy: renewals, plan changes, claims questions, eligibility verification, and life events (marriage, new dependent, address change).
  • Communicate with you by phone, text, WhatsApp, or email about your quote, application, or active coverage.
  • Comply with federal and state insurance laws, anti-money-laundering rules, tax reporting, and lawful requests from regulators.
  • Keep our records accurate and our agency secure.

We will not use your information for any unrelated marketing purpose without first asking you.

4. Who We Share Information With

The only parties who receive any of your information are those we need to actually do our job for you:

  • Insurance carriers: The specific health and life insurance carriers you ask us to quote or apply with (for example, Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha, and similar).
  • Government Marketplaces: HealthCare.gov and state-based ACA Marketplaces when we help you enroll in subsidized coverage.
  • Service providers: A small number of vendors who help us operate (e-signature platforms, secure email, CRM, hosting). They are contractually bound to handle your data confidentially and use it only to provide their service to us.
  • Regulators, auditors, and courts: State insurance departments, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), tax authorities, and law enforcement when required by law or a valid legal process.

We never share your information with marketing lists, data brokers, or third-party advertisers. We do not sell your information for money or anything else of value.

5. Cookies & Website Tracking

Our website uses a small amount of essential storage plus Google Analytics 4 for traffic measurement. Specifically:

  • Essential storage: Your language preference and your cookie banner choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. These never leave your device.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled. It tells us aggregate things like “100 people viewed the health insurance page this week” — not who you are. You can decline analytics through our cookie banner or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social-media tracking pixels, or cross-site behavioral profiling. Most browsers also let you control or block cookies through their settings, and most respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as we need it to serve you and to meet our legal obligations:

  • If you contact us but do not become a client, we typically delete your inquiry within 12 months unless you ask us to keep it for a future enrollment period.
  • If you become a client, we retain your records for the life of the policy plus the period required by applicable insurance, tax, and recordkeeping laws (commonly 7–10 years after the policy ends).
  • Server logs are rotated according to our hosting provider's defaults (typically a few months).

7. Health Information (HIPAA)

When you ask us to help you obtain health insurance, we may receive limited Protected Health Information (PHI) such as your age, tobacco use, household composition, or basic medical history needed for underwriting. To the extent the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) applies to a particular engagement, we handle PHI in compliance with HIPAA's Privacy and Security Rules and any business associate agreements we have with carriers. We share PHI only with the carriers and government programs you authorize, and only as required to obtain or service your coverage.

8. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information entrusted to us, including HTTPS encryption on our website, restricted access to client files, screen locks on agency devices, secure document storage, and a Content Security Policy plus other security headers on our web server. No method of transmitting or storing information is 100% secure, but we take privacy seriously and continue to improve our safeguards.

9. Your Rights as a California Resident (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and share it.
  • Receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you (right to portability).
  • Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal recordkeeping exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — though we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and never have.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • Be free from retaliation for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise these rights, email info@lafamiliainsuranceinc.com or call (305) 400-0062. We will verify your identity before fulfilling the request. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

10. Your Rights in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation and UK GDPR:

  • Right of access — to know what data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — to ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal obligations to retain insurance records.
  • Right to restrict processing.
  • Right to data portability — to receive your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on your consent.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our lawful bases for processing are: (a) your consent (when you submit a form or accept analytics cookies); (b) performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take before entering one (preparing a quote, submitting an application); (c) compliance with our legal obligations under U.S. insurance, tax, and consumer protection laws; and (d) our legitimate interest in operating our agency, securing our website, and improving our services. Your data is processed in the United States; we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) when EU/UK personal data is transferred.

11. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that require it). When a parent or guardian provides information about minor dependents in connection with a family insurance application, that information is used solely to obtain the requested coverage. If you believe a child has submitted information directly to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Do Not Track

Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no industry consensus exists on how to interpret them, but we do honor opt-out choices through our cookie banner. Where required by law, we also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.

13. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to external resources such as HealthCare.gov, carrier portals, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. Those services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review them before sharing information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as an email to active clients or a banner on this site).

15. Calls, Texts, and Messaging

When you share a phone number or messaging handle with us, you agree that we may contact you about your insurance inquiry, quote, application, or active policy by phone call, SMS text message, WhatsApp message, video-meeting invitation (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet), and similar messaging channels you and we mutually use. Messaging frequency may vary. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to SMS messages. WhatsApp and video-meeting platforms use your data or Wi-Fi connection.

To opt out of SMS, reply STOP to any text. For assistance, reply HELP. You can also email info@lafamiliainsuranceinc.com or call (305) 400-0062 to opt out of any channel. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of buying insurance. We do not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. For full details, including how we handle referrals and how to stop messaging on each platform, see our SMS & Messaging Terms.
